Crisis Behavioral Director

Our program serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the NC Innovations Waiver, focusing on growth, not just supervision.

The Crisis Behavioral Director is responsible for maintaining safety, structure, and behavioral stability within residential settings serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role requires a firm, consistent leader who can effectively manage high-risk behaviors, enforce expectations, and respond to crisis situations with confidence and control.

• Maintain a safe, structured, and controlled environment
• Respond to behavioral crises including aggression and self-injury
• Implement de-escalation and physical interventions
• Enforce behavioral expectations and routines
• Complete incident documentation
• Lead staff during crisis situations

• Ability to manage physically demanding crisis situations
• Perform physical interventions safely
• Strong command presence and leadership
• Open availability including overnight shifts
• Same-gender staffing may be required based on care plans

Primary schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Flexibility required for crisis coverage

• 3–5 years experience in behavioral health, corrections, or similar
• Experience with high-risk populations preferred
• Strong conflict management skills

$22–$30 per hour based on experience
